Apple Grove - The Orchard by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics
Apple Grove is a beautiful feature print from The Orchard by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics - an autumn-inspired collection capturing the warmth and charm of the harvest season.
Rich red apples, creamy blossoms and abundant green foliage are gathered into beautiful botanical clusters across a warm cream background. Smaller flowers, delicate leaves and scattered details give the design the wonderfully hand-drawn, layered quality Maureen Cracknell’s fabrics are known for.
With its rich harvest colours and generous scale, Apple Grove is a gorgeous quilting fabric when you want the print to make an impact. Use it for larger patchwork pieces, borders or feature blocks where those apples and florals have room to shine.
I especially love Apple Grove for a pieced quilt backing. The larger-scale design is perfect for showing off across the back of a quilt, and it could be combined with coordinating fabrics from The Orchard, leftover blocks or complementary solids to create a backing that’s every bit as interesting as the quilt top.
Beyond quilting and patchwork, Apple Grove would be beautiful for bags, zipper pouches, cushions and other home décor or seasonal sewing projects.
Printed on Art Gallery Fabrics’ 100% Premium Cotton, it has a beautifully smooth, soft hand while retaining the versatility you want from a quality quilting cotton.

Sublime Stitchery always recommends handwashing with mild, bleach-free detergent, like Soak and hang-dry all cotton fabrics for best results. If machine washing is your preferred method, we suggest using a mild, bleach-free detergent (like Soak) in cold water with like colours on a gentle cycle. Dry on a low-heat tumble setting to minimise shrinkage.
