The Pwakawaka Mini Quilt Pattern
Inspiration for the Pīwakawaka Mini Quilt comes from both the koru shape and the flitting and dancing path the Pīwakawaka (Fantail) bird takes as it rustles up leaves in search of insects to feed on.
The finished quilt size approximately 18" x 18"

Fabric Requirements:
Background Fabric: (1) Fat Quarter
Foreground Fabrics: (7) Fat Eighths OR Scraps from your Fabric Stash. Varying amounts of each fabric are required.
Binding: (2) WOF strips joined diagonally to create one continuous length. OR (1) Fat Quarter made into a single length strip of 2.5” binding. See this tutorial to make a continuous length bias binding from one Fat Quarter.
You will need a length of binding approximately 80” x 2.5”.
Backing: 20” x 20” (50cm x 50cm)
Batting: 20” x 20” (50cm x 50cm)
