Tsubomi by komihinata - Japanese Cotton Fabric
Delicate, fresh and beautifully understated, Tsubomi is a Japanese-inspired floral cotton fabric designed in collaboration with handicraft artist komihinata and Deco Collections.
“Tsubomi” means flower bud in Japanese, and the design captures that feeling of tiny new buds beginning to appear in spring. Petite blue buds and dots are scattered across a soft cream ground, with little pops of fresh yellow and fine green stems adding just the right amount of colour.
The light background and delicate scale give Tsubomi a wonderful low-volume quality, making it an especially useful quilting fabric for backgrounds, patchwork and projects where you want something softer than a plain solid.
Its gentle botanical design would also be beautiful for zipper pouches, project bags and other accessories, as well as handmade clothing such as blouses and dresses.

Sublime Stitchery always recommends handwashing with mild, bleach-free detergent, like Soak and hang-dry all cotton fabrics for best results. If machine washing is your preferred method, we suggest using a mild, bleach-free detergent (like Soak) in cold water with similar colours on a gentle cycle. Dry on a low-heat tumble setting to minimise shrinkage.
Colours are represented as accurately as possible, however, due to differences in lighting and screen settings, colours may differ slightly between photos and the physical product.
